Asud Baug and Keshavraj Temple, Asud.

It is a calm and serene village lying covered with coconut and betel nut trees. The natural beauty of this village has been immortalized in many Marathi literary works.

 A few minutes walk from Asud, climbing up stone steps lies this temple which dates back to the Peshva Era and is famous for the perennial water flowing from a mouth of a cow carved from stone. The temple is christened in folklore for its mystic powers.


Murud, Karde and Harne.

Murud Village & Beach – One of the most famous beaches in the area, it is also a hotspot for water sports. Weekends the beach is full of tourist who come here for the beautiful expansive clean beach. Also a starting point for morning boat rides for Dolphin spotting.

Karde Beach – This is one of the older beaches frequented by tourist and is absolutely clean, safe and peaceful. It turns into home for migratory birds for a few months of the year along with Murud and Harnai.

Harne Fishing Village & Port – It was earlier a port for seafarers but now it is become a hub for fishing. There is a daily auction that takes place between 4 pm and 7 pm. Fish worth lakhs are traded daily in the auction.


Suvarndurg Fort and Kadyavarcha Ganpati

Suvarndurg Fort, Harne – It is located over 2 kms away from the shore. It dates back to Shilahar Era and was extensively rebuilt during the time of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. People believe it earlier had a tunnel connecting it to the mainland that has since been destroyed.

Kadyavarcha Ganpati, Anjarle – Originally built in 1430 and then rebuilt in 1780 is perched on a cliff. It is perched overlooking the Anjarle creek and the Suvarnadurg fort. It remains one of the most important temples in the area. Pilgrims flock from all over Maharashtra to this temple.


Ladghar and Dabhol

Tamas Teerth, Ladghar – A long beach, which has reddish, sand and also lends the reddish hue to the water. It is a safe beach that lies in a bay. It is home to Sri Veleshwar & Sri Datta temples.

Dabhol Village & Harbor – Dabhol is an important port of the area and can been seen from the hustle and bustle at the harbor. Located at the junction of the sea and river Savitri. It is also home to the Enron Power project.

Chandika Devi Temple, Dabhol – It is built during the rule of the Peshwa dynasty. It is in a naturally formed monolithic cave. Legend has it that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj used to offer his prayers in this temple when on march in Dabhol region.


Panhalekaji Caves

Panhalekaji Caves, Panhalekaji – Ancient, rock cut caves believed to be more than a thousand years old are a treat to architecture lovers. Hindu and Buddhist sculptures cover the walls. There are around 29 caves here that are located on the banks of the “Kotjai” river.


Hot water springs

Hot Water Springs, Unhavare – Situated amidst a picturesque valley, you can bathe in these natural hot springs. The hot water comes through the springs and then is collected in huge tanks. The water that is rich in sulphur has medicinal value and can cure some skin ailments.


Olive Ridley Turtles

Olive Ridley Turtles, Velas – It is an abode and breeding ground for the endangered olive ridley turtles through the summer and immediately after winter.  Thousands of these turtles come and nest here.

Palgad Fort

Palgad Fort – It is shaped like a lizard head as the name states. It is a delight for Trekkers and has scenic view. Surrounded by forest makes the trek closer to nature.


Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth

Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth – It is an agricultural university, which specializes in rice, horticulture & fisheries. It has developed new varieties of Rice, Mango, Cashew Nuts, Coconuts, Pepper, Cloves, Cinnamon and many other fruits and spices. It also is home to a man made forest, medicinal ayurvedic garden, bamboo forest, and concept farms. It has an information center open to visitors right opposite the Hotel.
